DEMON STRIKE NINE

Some of you might remember the story I came up with in one of my "How Tos". Well it inspired me to an entire game! Yey! An adventure full of puzzles and mysteries, friendship and dark magic! *excited*

Anyways to get into the matter I wrote this beginning as start like a story. It's a little back since I wrote it but that doesn't really matter.

________________________________

A pair of headlights broke through the darkness of night. In curves, they slowly made their way towards the coastline, passing chirping fields under a starry sky. Music echoed over the width.
“Here in my town, my little town, my little town, my town, this is my town...“
Sam rolled his eyes at his friend. Lawrence, the driver, had short blond hair and wore glasses over an intellectual face. Sam opposed him with the slight tan that seemed to cover his whole body year-round, black hair falling wildly curled over a pair of green eyes. After exchanging a grin Lawrence picked up the singing again while Sam searched for the map. Soon after, his upper body was covered by crumpled lines of different color and intensity. It took him a while but finally Sam pointed his finger onto the paper, which immediately gave way with a tearing sound.
“Oh. Well, there we were...“, he commented shrugging his shoulders, “Turn left at the next crossroad. We should be able to see the ocean soon.“
“Here I go!“
Lawrence turned the wheel and the car swung swiftly over the tarmac. After another few kilometers of fields, something black arose from the horizon. The blond blinked at his friend. Sam nodded, the car moving evenly closer to the great black wall.
“Alright“, Lawrence grimaced and continued dryly: “why not turn this into a horror movie...“
Sam laughed. A quick glance at the shredded map in his hands told him there was only one road leading through the thicket so he carefully stored it away into his backpack. Suddenly the black-head looked up. The car was almost near to crouching by now.
“Carry your car.”, he mumbled louder than necessary. When nothing happened, he turned to shoot a You-can’t-be-serious-look at the driver who’s head had shrunk deep between two muscular shoulders. After seconds of effortless ignoring, the blond added with a shudder: “Not that I care...“
Then the forest swallowed the car.

The road was bumpy and Sam had a hard time keeping their luggage from tumbling all over the place.

“Are you sure th-th-this is the-he right w-w-way?“, Lawrence managed to bring forth between one great hole and another.
“Yes!“, Sam shouted over the loud noise, “It should be just past the forest!“
His friend muttered something unheard and they continued deeper into the trees.

Branches of a bush hit the windscreen and the men jumped. The small car still in motion, Lawrences frantically ran his eyes over the front. He loved his car but stepping out there to look for damages seemed stupid and irresponsible, and his foot stayed on the gas. Another ten minutes went by. Silently, the two men followed the changing textures touched by the light cone, the radio still playing jolly music. Finally the trees opened to a blueish light and the coastline appeared in the distance. The men sighed of relief, then laughed. One more minute, just a few meters more, and they would leave this gruesome place for good. Lawrence opened his mouth to sing along with the radio in silence, more than relived to be though the worst of their journey. Sam chuckled at his friends’ manner, then turned to have a last look of the outer world of branches and mist, long grasses and twining trees. Before he noticed, his eyes followed a group of dark, tall shadows outside.
“Stop! Stop, Lawrence!”
Brakes squealed and the car came to a halt. Lawrence fist hit the steering wheel.
“God damn it, Sam! You gave me a heart a- Sam? Sam!"

Before the blond could do anything, his friend had vanished into the woods.
Silence. It had washed over the scene with Sams exit. Now it broke into his lonely companion with fearsome intensity. Quickly a hand reached for the handle of the passenger door and closed it shut. He blinked. Something was wrong with the radio. White noise, meant no reception. He checked his phone. Same result. Again the hand moved for a handle. He hesitated... and let go.

Dry branches hindered Sam in his hasty forthcoming. He had seen someone. He was sure of it. And for no apparent reason, he had left the car, and Lawrence with it. Now there was no turning back. He had left orientation the moment he had left the street. His only fix point: a dark figure shifting from one place to another.
It felt like hours until a small glade opened right before him, so sudden, that Sam stumbled and fell.
He grunted. What was he doing here anyways?
“H-hello?” The voice sounded thin and unhealthy and caught Sam by surprise. It seemed he had reached his destination, whatever that would be. Hands for support, he got up. It took him a moment, to adjust to the blue surrounding.
A man, about 50 years old, was crouching in the center of the meadow. His left shoulder leaned against a perfectly cube shaped stone.
“Do you need help?” Sam already knew the answer. There were bruises and scratches all over the mans’ body. But something made him hesitate.
“C-come here, boy... Help me up.”, Sam heard the man say. Automatically he started walking. Slowly his feet rustled through the high grass until they had reached the tramped down circled. Still 2 meters separating the two, the dark-haired struggled to halt.
“You need medication”, he said, finally getting his body back under controll but the man shook his head and repeated: “Help me up, boy. Help me...”

The man reached out his hand and Sam grabbed it. Confused he looked at his arm, suddenly unsure on why he had moved it. The man gave a terrible moan. No turning back, Sam reminded himself. If he helped the man now, he might lead him back to the street later.

A cry. Lawrence frantically stared out of the window but nothing happened. He opened it to listen more carefully but there was nothing more. No sound. No Sam. He had been waiting for 15 Minutes already and yet there was no sign. This time the hand didn't wait. Determined the man opened his car door and stepped outside. A soft breeze lifted his hair. His eyes fixed to the point where Sam had vanished before, he breathed in and shouted: “SAM!”
He repeated it several times. Again and again the name echoed through the forest, until a rustling answered his call. Green eyes disengaged from the darkness. A second later Lawrence was by Sams side, screaming at him in anger and fear. Sam simply smiled.
“Sorry. I won't do it again.”, he said softly. Lawrence went silent. He nodded, then turned to the car, his body still stiff from excitement. Both got in and left the forest towards the coast, towards the light. On the way Sam told his friend what had happened. Wrinkles shot over Lawrence's forehead.
“That's strange. How could he outrun you, then suddenly being the helpless victim? Are you sure he needed help?”

“Yes, yes. When I lifted him up he was so weak he fell back down, dragging me with him. That's where I got that from.”
Sam held out his left arm. A dark wound stretched from elbow to wrist.
“Why didn't you say so before?”, Lawrence demanded madly.
“I did now.”
“Well, yes, but- alright, there's nothing I could have done anyways...”, Lawrence grumbled. Then he added quickly: “Get it examined, first thing in the morning!”
“Yes, Sir!”, Sam saluted.

One Particular Fairy Tale

The opening credits of "One Particular Fairy Tale". Tada!
Well trouble is, it's not the easiest formatting text documents here, at least not scripts as I had to experience.
Usually I like the drawn line under each scene heading to go all the way over to the right, where the I/D, I/N, O/D or O/N stands.
But I guess it'll work this way too.
About scene 6 and 7: It's an intercut. Means in the movie we'd see a piece of each scene, then from the other and so forth. Usually it looks a lot more organised then here but they don't have tabs...

The music I chose can't be taken for the later movie of cause but it inspired me quite a deal and fits perfectly, if you hear it. My advise would be to first read through the script and then turn on the music and read it again, slowly, imagining each picture. Most of the time you actually HEAR the scene change in the music.

Have fun! And if there are any questions, feel free to comment or get in contact with me.

Time has changed, So has Kandrakar and Earth.
Time has changed, So has Kandrakar and Earth.

JROCK int Prologue

Kandrakar fortress of light and eternity:

The hall of elements was shaking. A constant vibration, running deep inside the walls, stirred up the cards of change.
One of the wise men came running hastily, his eyes trying hard to follow the chaos of cards in the air: "Oracle! What does it mean? The elements-"
"-are angry, my friend."
He staggered and came to a halt before a green flowing basin. The dark woman turned to give him a smile: "Nice to see you, Tibor."
"Y-yes,
oracle. About the elements…"
The smile faded. With one finger, the
oracle touched the water and pictures became clear.
"Look, Tibor, how they rage. The time of W.I.T.C.H. has come to an end."
"And Kandrakar has never been prouder of its guardians.", the man said, stroking his white beard.
The
oracle nodded: "I appreciate that. But no one is flawless. We saved so many worlds, too many, that we forgot about our own. Now the universe it at peace
but the planet called earth is rampaging. Magic has come to it and under the cover of distance, far from the borders of Heatherfield, a riot began. Organizations
formed with extraordinary people. At first you could distinguish between good and bad. However, after time passed, they have become more anxious of gathering
new members, of becoming stronger. The competition became war. That is, what we have called upon. The burden of our heritage."
The water slowed and the pictures vanished. Taranee turned to face Tibor: "Kandrakar needs guardians, Earth needs guardians. Even the elements cry for them."
"Then how is it, that we haven't found them yet?", he asked, while ducking under a storm of passing cards.
"Things have changed, Tibor. What once was easy to be done, seems now impossible. Look! One has already been discovered."
He followed her gaze into a pond of green water, where a picture of a girl appeared. He took a moment, then mumbled:
"Kia Tenner. The guardian of earth. You
entrusted her sister with the earthcrystal…"
Taranee laughed. "Don't look so grumpy, Tibor! Look how skilled that young girl is. With the guidance of her sister and the training from Josephine she will become
a true guardian like us.", she hesitated, then grinned: "Maybe even better than us. We have to be patient. After all, that is, what Kandrakar is best at, right?
Patience and observation." She winked freshly, then got up to follow Tibor out of the room.

Hall after hall crossed their path, walls filled with stories of different times, different people. After a while the two reached a corridor with
crystal platforms leading up to
a tower in circles. Silently Tibor flew up, while Taranee lifted her robe to jump after him, touching every platform shortly with her feet before evolving to the next.

"Any news from Cornelia?", the
oracle huffed. They reached a door and the wise man opened it without touching. Both went through to find another green-blueish corridor.
As they continued their way, the man answered:
"She is, if I may say so, as happy as the mole in the hole."
Taranee startled. Sudden laughter echoed through the halls of Kandrakar. The mighty oracle could barely stand on her feet, slapping her knee. Tibor gave a proud grin.
Something blinked behind them and a second later Hay Lin watched her friend with great interest.
"I thought I'd come by for a visit, since this place can be so dull, but I see you're doing just fine without me.", she said and hugged Taranee who wiped off a single teardrop.
"It's nice to see you. Let's go to my room. You surely have to tell me a lot."
Hay Lin nudged her old friend with a wink: "Why you too, oh mighty oracle."
Tibor watched head shaking, how the two girls pranced down the hall, giggling and chattering like monkeys. Mighty, indeed, he thought.

"How are the kids?", Taranee asked as soon as the gigantic doors fell shut behind them.
"They're fine. But they miss their aunty Cook."
They laughed. Hay Lin took a moment to observe the new surroundings.
"Nice play you got here.", she concluded.
Taranee smirked.
"And that's not all!"
A clap and a bed of soft clouds emerged from under their feet. Hay Lin squealed excitedly. Together they hopped all over the place, throwing dusty cloud pieces at each other.
After a while they lay down in exhaustion, watching the dawning sunset on the ceiling.
"How are the new guardians?", Hay Lin asked after a while.
"We've only found one so far."
"Really?"
Taranee sighed: "Yeah… How is it, down there?"
She gestured downward. Hay Lin waited until the propper words had formed inside her mind. The she answered: "Let's put it this way: I'm happy my children don't have
magical powers. Up until now, that is."
"I see…"
Sighing. Suddenly a breath of air brushed their cheeks and a tiny card made its way towards the oracle.
"Oh!"
"Oh?", repeated Hay Lin curiously, "What is it?"
"An element card! The guardian of water has awakened! Come on!"
Without any further hesitation, Taranee grabbed her friend by the arm and dragged her back into the hall of elements. Indeed the water cards got calmer and built a barrier
over their element.The
oracle touched the cards and the picture of a young girl appeared. Her dark hair hung in wild curls over her dark skin. Hay Lin blinked.
"She kind'a reminds me of you.", she said, shifting her eyes from the picture on the water, towards the oracle beside her. Taranee went a little closer to scrutinize the picture.
"Maybe we should get you back those glasses, old lady.", Hay Lin teased.
"Ha-ha. Looked into the mirror lately? Oh!"
"What now?"
Immediately Hay Lin was back at the puddle of water, leaning in almost too closely. Taranee waited patiently, until her friend had gained a certain ballance, then explained:
"That's interesting. The first guardian was from Melbourne, Australia. Now look where this one comes from!"
"Oceania… wow, that's rare."
"It seems the elements prepare an international team this time!"
The girl in the picture moved her hands lightly. Josephine appeared beside her. Hay Lin pointed at the woman: "Who's that?"
"Josephine Lieux, a French woman. She will train the new guardians so they'll be ready in no time!"
"That totally sounds like a commercial."
"Yeah maybe…", Taranee shrugged.
The screen went blue. Two big pair of eyes moved even denser.
"Wow! Now look at that wave! Irma wasn't able to do that at the beginning, was she?"
Hay Lin was fascinated. By now the tips of her fringe already touched the water surface.

"No. Looks like the new guardians really are more skillful than we were. ", Taranee agreed. Suddenly Hay Lin jumped back from the picture and poked her friend in the cheek.
"Well no wonder! Look at that oracle they've got! Waaaay better than that old wisenheimer. You even got them a trainer and that other… woman… What's she doing anyways?"
She paused in the poking and Taranee took the opportunity to get a hold of that annoying finger. Irgnoring the asians struggle getting it loose again, the oracle continued:
"She's responsible for the girls. Besides I gave her the earthcrystal so it would be easier to find the other guardians more quickly. It reacts on concentration of elemental power."
Hay Lin paused in her mocement to exclaim a sound of aw: "Uh, earthcrystal."
"And Ring of elements." Taranee pointed on a bracelet around the French womans arm. With a "thud" the oracle let go of Hay Lins finger and the woman landed on her butt.
"What does that do?", she asked rubbing her backside.
"It starts to glow when one of the guardians is in trouble."
"Ah, that's clever. Well, well you've become a real show off, haven't you?"
They laughed, then Taranee dismissed the water cards and the two of them went into the tall hallway where they had left Tibor earlier.
"Well I think I gotta go now. Mei has that recital today."
Taranee nodded. A slight shadow of sadness occupying her eyes.
"I see.", she said, "Give them a great hug and your cuty hubby, you can give him a kiss from dear Taranee."
With that the oracle pursed her lips, flapping her eyelashes frantically at her friend, who shoved her face away a bit.
"Yeah, I don't think so. Anyways you take good care of those girls. I'll come by soon."
One last embrace and Hay Lin vanished with a flash.

Earth and water, Taranee repeated in her mind.
Only three to go.
